David Jetmore on Death
July 28, 2026
Death is a subject many of us avoid, yet it quietly shapes the way we live every day. In this thoughtful conversation, David reflects on mortality through the lenses of science, faith, philosophy, and lived experience. Together, father and daughter explore what may happen when we die, why uncertainty can be a gift, and how an awareness of life’s finite nature invites us to live with greater intention. Along the way, they discover that our greatest legacy may not be what we achieve or accumulate, but the kindness, wisdom, and love that continue to ripple outward long after we’re gone.
“In other words, it’s a ripple effect. I think that’s how we live on. I mean, that’s our chance to, if not be immortal, but to at least live on after this time we’ve spent here. Because I think the things we do for others, they’ll do for others. It will have a ripple effect like a stone dropped into a pond. It’ll ripple on. And who knows when it’ll end. Maybe it doesn’t end, but that’s a comforting thought to me. So by golly, I’m going to have it.” (David, 21:37)
